William Klein, born near Harlem, New York, in 1928, has become one of the most influential and ground-breaking photographers of the 20 th Century. After growing up in New York visiting various exhibitions and galleries throughout his childhood, he became very interested in art; however it wasn’t until his short time in the army, when he won his first camera in a game of poker, that he William Klein (American, b. April 19, 1928) is a photographer best known for incorporating unusual elements into his photographs and videos. Born in New York, he grew up as a Jewish boy in an area where anti-Semitism was common.
